I am currently entering my twelfth year of teaching high school students at Boone Central--a job I am thankful for every day! I teach English 9, Freshman English, Creative Writing I & II, American History for college credit, and World History. I am the sponsor for the freshmen class, Boone Central's Book Club, Boone Central Close Up, and adviser for National Honor Society.
I graduated from UNK in 2008 with a degree in Secondary Education including endorsements in History, English, and Coaching. I also received my Masters of Arts in History from UNK in the summer of 2013. Having grown up with a deep love for history, reading and writing, my teaching philosophy reflects my personal beliefs: "A great teacher should create a caring atmosphere where all students feel safe, treat all students fairly, embrace differences, be a disciplinarian, provide students with access to knowledge, and constantly improve his/her education all while preparing the next generation to be amazing people."
Having grown up in Albion, Boone Central has always held a special place in my heart. As a teacher and community member, it is a privilege to watch the young people of our communities learn exciting new things and grow together through their classes and extracurricular activities. We are blessed to have wonderful, dedicated and hard working students.
